Our Story
Equation Recruitment was founded in the UK in 2005 with a simple mission to connect good people with great opportunities. What began as a small independent consultancy in Oxfordshire has grown into a trusted recruitment partner recognised for quality, transparency and long term relationships.
In 2023 we expanded into the Australian market, bringing our UK standards and experience to support businesses nationwide. From our Gold Coast base we manage permanent recruitment across every state and territory, connecting employers with high calibre professionals who make a lasting impact.
We are not a job board consultancy. Every vacancy is managed as its own recruitment project, where we define, research and directly target the specific people needed for success. The best candidates are usually busy doing their jobs well, not applying for another one. Many are quietly open to change but not actively searching, and it is our job to find them, understand them and introduce the right opportunity.
From day one we have focused on people, not just CVs and job specs, building partnerships where trust, communication and results come first.
Equation Recruitment has held REC Audit status in the United Kingdom since 2011. The REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation) is the professional governing body for recruitment in the UK, and Audit certification is its highest level of accreditation. It is only awarded to agencies who meet strict standards in ethics, compliance, and best practice. This reflects how we work every day: open, honest, and transparent, with a focus on quality and respect for both clients and candidates. We do not waste time with volume or guesswork, only genuine, qualified introductions that add value to every business we support.
How we work
Equation Recruitment is not a job board agency. We do not rely on adverts or mass applications. Every vacancy is treated as a unique recruitment project with its own plan, research and delivery process.
We start by taking a full and detailed job brief. This helps us understand your company, culture and the exact skills and personality you need. From there we create a tailored recruitment project plan that defines the target audience, search strategy and communication channels we will use, whether that is direct email, SMS, phone, LinkedIn InMail or personal referral.
We then go to market to identify and approach new talent. Our focus is on those exceptional individuals who are busy doing their jobs well, not scrolling through job boards looking for their next move. We make contact discreetly, introduce the opportunity and build genuine conversations that uncover their true motivators, needs and ambitions.
Every candidate is interviewed and assessed using a competency based approach to ensure a genuine match with your requirements. Once shortlisted we coordinate the entire interview process, from arranging meetings and feedback to managing final offer discussions and benefits negotiation.
To give complete confidence in every appointment, all permanent placements are covered by a 12 week guarantee period.
